Every so often, you pick up a book that surprises you.
Rich Dad, Poor Dad, by Robert T. Kiyosaki, is one of those books.
It completely changed how I think about money.
It is told from the viewpoint of the author, who learns very different lessons from his father (the Poor Dad) and his friend’s father (the Rich Dad).
Kiyosaki uses simple language with stories and diagrams to explain how rich parents talk to their children in a very different way than poor or middle class parents.
The book explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich.
It explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you.
The concepts in this book will turn your idea of assets and liabilities on their side with real life examples that show how different the cash flow of different people affect their wealth.
If I were to recommend one book to start learning about money, this is my #1.
